About the Event
O/Modernt, founded in 2011 by Hugo Ticciati, travels freely across boundaries of time and place in search of meaningful musical connections. Its quest continues with an arresting combination of works ancient and modern, beginning with a potent arrangement of Viderunt Omnes, composed in 12th-century Paris, and Dobrinka Tabakova’s 2021 concerto for solo violin, percussion and string orchestra The Patience of Trees, a haunting meditation on the relationship between the natural world and the city. The second half includes Josquin’s jewel-like setting of the Ave Maria prayer, the shimmering sounds of Albert Schnelzer’s Apollonian Dances and Johannes Marmén’s take on a Radiohead classic.
