A native of Memphis, Tennessee, saxophonist and composer Bernell Jones II creates modern jazz shaped by the musical traditions that have surrounded him throughout his life. Drawing from his church upbringing and the sounds of his hometown, Jones combines jazz improvisation with elements of gospel, R&B and funk to create his own distinctive sound.
