Lawrence Fields’ Acoustic Trio seamlessly blends progressive and traditional jazz stylings — with a fluid, spontaneous approach to interplay. Fields is noted for a blend of compelling musicality, a lightning piano technique, and an expressive, personal sound. Dubbed a rising star by Downbeat Magazine, his music is featured internationally, and Fields’ trios perform at prominent jazz venues worldwide.

Fields is also a key member of some of today’s forward-thinking, critically-acclaimed groups, including Joe Lovano and Dave Douglas’ “Sound Prints” and the Grammy-nominated Chief Adjuah/Christian Scott group. His work spans a career performing and/or recording with a diverse collection of artists that includes Nicholas Payton, Branford and Delfeayo Marsalis, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Jeff “Tain” Watts.
