London Symphony Orchestra/Half Six Fix – John Adams

Relax, grab a drink, and kick-start your evening with a Half Six Fix concert. Introduced by the performers with screens in the Hall to bring you closer to the action. John Adams – who celebrates his 80th birthday in 2027 – has worked with the LSO for many years, as both a composer and a guest conductor. The title of Harmonielehre is taken from Schoenberg’s harmony textbook of the same name. Inspired by vivid dreams, myths and legends, Adams blends romantic harmony with minimalist influences to create a contemporary ode to classical music’s symphonic past. Sir Simon Rattle, LSO Conductor Emeritus, is no stranger to Adams’ work, and led the LSO in the world premiere of the composer's orchestral piece Frenzy in 2024. Come and enjoy his expert introduction, before he and the LSO launch into the performance. The concert will finish at approximately 7.30pm.
