About the Event
Born in the coastal town of Terracina in southern Italy, Ferrari began his musical journey as a teenager through guitar, before teaching himself piano and composition and developing a natural voice as both songwriter and musical storyteller. After completing studies in medical engineering, he chose to follow music fully, graduating with First Class Honours in Jazz Piano from the Licinio Refice Conservatory in 2015. He later moved to London through the EU scholarship programme Working With Music, beginning a new chapter as a performer, composer and arranger in the UK.
Since then, Ferrari has built a distinctive path as an artist, leading projects that reflect both his Mediterranean roots and his wide musical curiosity. His acclaimed trio album Above The Clouds brought together original compositions, soaring melodies and deep interplay, earning praise from jazz press and radio in the UK and internationally. Alongside his trio work, he has developed long-standing collaborations with artists such as Cuban violinist Omar Puente, and continues to create music that values spontaneity, warmth and communication above genre boundaries.
This special appearance at PizzaExpress Jazz Club Soho reflects both the journey so far and the road ahead: honouring the expansive acoustic world of the trio while also opening the door to a newer, song-led sound that points towards Ferrari’s forthcoming sixth studio album. Thoughtful, expressive and quietly adventurous, his music invites audiences into a space where song, improvisation and shared celebration meet.
