Jasper Høiby’s 3Elements

Bassist, composer and bandleader Jasper Høiby's acclaimed trio 3Elements performs music from Conversations of Hope. Featuring pianist Xavi Torres and drummer Naíma Acuña, the group combines driving rhythms, strong melodic writing and fearless interplay in a fresh perspective on the modern piano trio.

Høiby's international reputation was established through Phronesis, the influential trio that redefined expectations of the modern piano trio. That same balance of structure, risk and collective momentum lies at the heart of 3Elements.

Released on Edition Records, Conversations of Hope is the trio's third album. Shaped by memorable melodies, shifting metres and an acute sense of space, it finds Torres' harmonically rich piano playing and Acuña's precise, propulsive drumming responding instinctively to Høiby's bass-led compositions.

Together, the trio create music that is urgent, dynamic and deeply collaborative, where intricate writing, rhythmic invention and spontaneous improvisation combine with remarkable clarity.
