About the Event

Emerging artist singers and pianists from the RAM Song Circle explore a programme of song inspired by our longing for refuge, belonging and home. In our ‘dusty world’, we find hope in memories of familiar places, dreams of love and moments of quiet resilience. At the heart of the programme are Grieg’s Op. 48 songs, where sweeping Norwegian landscapes backdrop yearning, solitude and spiritual reflection, alongside Copland’s luminous settings of Emily Dickinson, whose poetry finds wonder, faith and eternity in the smallest moments. Poulenc’s Banalités offers a witty and poignant counterpoint, celebrating the beauty and contradictions of everyday experience.
