Schubert’s Winterreise: Alice Sara Ott & Benjamin Appl

As part of her Barbican Residency, pianist Alice Sara Ott joins baritone Benjamin Appl for the world premiere of a new staging of Schubert’s Winterreise. Directed by Andrew Staples, whose collaborations with Ott include Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time and the award-winning film Nocturne, this reimagining brings together music, theatre and visual storytelling in a fresh encounter with one of the great song cycles of the Romantic repertoire.
