About the Event

Singer, songwriter and pianist Jon Regen has been a fan favorite on both sides of the Atlantic for over a decade, selling-out venues and nabbing top-tier press and radio play. Regen returns to celebrate the release of his new album LIVE IN LONDON, recorded live on our stage during the 2025 London Jazz Festival. The album features new songs as well as celebrated ones from records like Satisfied Mind, which spent weeks on Jazz FM’s A List Playlist and featured luminaries like Ron Carter, Rob Thomas and Pino Palladino. With PJ Phillips on bass, John Miller on drums, Paul Booth on saxophone, plus special guests! “The new album is a thrill for me for many reasons,” Regen says. “The first being my career as a singer/songwriter started on the PizzaExpress stage. It’s the place where I realized I had my own story to tell as a solo artist. It’s also the first time that what I do live has been accurately captured on record. It sounds like my shows sound. And finally, to have my longtime band of PJ Phillips and John Miller - plus sax ace Paul Booth along for the ride – that’s the icing on the cake!” LIVE IN LONDON follows a busy time for Regen, with a recent appearance on BBC Radio 3’s “EARLIER… with Jools Holland” hosted by the legendary pianist and TV presenter, and Regen’s affecting single “Every Time You Walk Away” spending seven weeks on Jazz FM’s A List Playlist after being named Featured Track of the Week. Noted KMUW radio host Jedd Beaudoin called the single “the kind of song you want to put on after the bars have closed, a late-night burner that melds pop, R&B and classic singer/songwriter fare into a groove of its own.” The track was Regen’s first released music since his 2024 EP Lost and Found, which topped numerous radio playlists and garnered critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic. His 2023 album Satisfied Mind received raved reviews as well, with famed Telegraph writer Neil McCormick awarding it four stars and writing, “Imagine a young Billy Joel singing Bill Withers songs with a tumble of perfectly chilled piano notes... you are witnessing virtuosos at the height of their powers.” Regen also just released his acclaimed but never-before-issued 1996 debut album From Left to Right featuring the late bassist Earl May (John Coltrane, Charlie Parker) and drummer Sunny Jain (Red Baraat). Jon Regen has worn a multitude of hats in his career - from a sought-after sideman with artists like Little Jimmy Scott and Kyle Eastwood, to an acclaimed solo artist in his own right with a Number One Billboard album. He was also the longtime Editor of Keyboard Magazine, a writer for outlets like the New York Times and Variety, and the creator and host of the popular worldwide radio show “New York Notes” that ran for nearly 100 episodes and featured guests like Bruce Hornsby and Jackson Browne. Regen was featured in the Emmy Award-winning Amazon series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and most recently programmed the inaugural Downtown NYC Jazz Festival. "" a wonderful touch on the piano, a wonderful voice, and a great writer…” " - JOOLS HOLLAND, BBC RADIO 3
