About the Event
Swedish-born, London-based vocalist and composer Liselotte Östblom joins Jamie Safir Trio for an evening of classic jazz repertoire, reworked through her instinctive, improvisational approach to the music.
Moving between jazz, gospel and improvised music, Östblom brings a strong sense of storytelling and a distinctive vocal style to standards from the jazz canon. Her international work has seen her collaborate with artists including Gregory Hutchinson, Robert “Sput” Searight and Aaron Parks, while her project BOREAL SUN has received radio support from Gilles Peterson, Jamie Cullum and China Moses.
Alongside Safir’s elegant arrangements and swinging trio, expect familiar songs, fresh interpretations and plenty of space for musical interplay.
