About the Event

This is a true recruitment of a quintet made up of very capable musicians who, both individually and as a group, have been able to gain a leading role in the vast and varied panorama of international jazz, which triggers emblematic emotions and associations as it synthesizes influences from various cultural domains.

Presenting his latest critically acclaimed album release ‘The Predator’, Italian Pianist, composer and band leader Daniele Gorgone has assembled a group of international renown musicians for this one-off UK performance a record released this year that is enjoying great success with audiences and critics in Italy and Europe. Joining Gorgone on stage will be three giants of the English jazz scene: Quentin Collins on trumpet, Denys Baptiste on saxophone, Mark Taylor on drums. In addition on bass is young up annd comer Milanese double bassist Carlo Bavetta.

The concert will feature Gorgone’s trademark acerbic Hard Bop compositions, primarily drawn from ‘The Predator’ as well as a few rarely played standards. This promises to be an evening packed with great groove and interplay, refined and engaging melodies.

Daniele Gorgone, an energetic and brilliant pianist class 1977, is one of the jazz musicians who are most keen on the sense of American jazz music and culture in Italy.
