Morton Feldman: Unsettled Memory
About the Event
Drift through a world where time softens and memory shifts in an intimate evening of Feldman’s hypnotic soundscapes that blur the line between what we hear and what we think we remember.
Morton Feldman’s music invites us to listen differently. Quiet, spacious and unpredictable, his works unfold in ways that feel both familiar and strange, asking us to let go of expectation and simply be in the moment.
This programme spans three decades of Feldman’s work. Early piece Projection 2 introduces his experimental approach, where no two performances are ever the same. In Three Voices, soprano and tape intertwine in a fragile, haunting dialogue that plays with presence and absence. The evening closes with Triadic Memories, a mesmerising solo piano work where patterns seem to repeat, yet never quite return as expected.
Performed by leading interpreters of his repertoire, this is a rare chance to experience Feldman’s unique sound world live, music that unfolds like memory itself, elusive and quietly transformative.
