Richard Bona

As a child in Cameroon, Richard Bona made his own instruments from whatever he could find. Today, he is one of the most celebrated bassists in the world.

Discovered Jaco Pastorius as a teenager, and he eventually found himself sharing stages and studios with some of the biggest names in music; from Pat Metheny and Joe Zawinul to Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Bobby McFerrin and Stevie Wonder.

A Grammy-winning bassist Bona brings together jazz, funk, Afropop and the musical traditions of his home country with remarkable ease.
