About the Event
Tom Seals is a pianist, vocalist and entertainer whose career has taken him to more than 100 countries, from the London Palladium and New York’s Birdland to the Montreux and North Sea Jazz Festivals. Expect an evening of jazz, blues, swing and boogie woogie, with virtuosic piano playing, soulful vocals and plenty of room for improvisation.
Seals has performed alongside Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum and Hugh Laurie, as well as appearing at Glastonbury and supporting Pink Floyd at Hyde Park with CC Smugglers in front of 70,000 people. He regularly performs a duelling piano show with Jools Holland, his boogie woogie inspiration, who awarded him the title of “Boogie Woogie Artist of The Year”.
Seals also had his own 13-week series on Sky, Tom Seals Presents. Each week, he welcomed a celebrity guest to discuss their favourite songs, which Seals and his band then performed with their own jazz and blues arrangements. Guests included Anton Du Beke, David Coulthard, Ruby Turner, Russell Watson, Toyah Willcox, Tom Grennan, Sir Kenny Dalglish, Stephen K Amos, Diane Abbott, Tom Allen and Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson.
Seals has also recently completed a UK theatre tour with Strictly Come Dancing stars Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec. As The Express put it, he is “the UK’s finest boogie-woogie and blues sensation”, while Noddy Holder describes him as being “in the top 5 boogie pianists in the world”.
