Bosmans, Verbey & Schubert — Viride Kwartet

Dutch gems performed by a young and energetic string quartet

The young Viride Kwartet loves to shine a light on Dutch music that deserve a wider audience. Tonight, they perform a gem by Theo Verbey, who passed away suddenly in 2019. They also perform the magnificent String Quartet (1927) by Henriëtte Bosmans, who in recent years is being embraced more and more as an important voice from the interwar period. Two pieces that effortlessly hold their ground next to a heavyweight classic like Schubert’s quartet Der Tod und das Mädchen.

The members of Viride met as teenagers at the School for Young Talent in The Hague and have performed as a quartet since 2017. With their infectious energy and exquisite, razor-sharp synergy, they have graced all the major stages in the Netherlands and won numerous awards. 

Outdoor concert
This Terrace Concert is an outdoor event. The sun can be intense and the wind can be quite strong near the water, so come prepared. In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the performance will be held indoors in the Entrance Hall, which overlooks the river IJ.
