About the Event

Award winning grammy-nominated composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Danny Keane is fast becoming one of the UK’s most fascinating artists. A staple of the cello chair with Ethio-Jazz legend Mulatu Astatke for the last 20 years, and a long-time collaborator with sitarist Anoushka Shankar, Danny combines multiple disciplines into a unique voice all of his own. 2020 saw the release of his debut album Roamin’ to great critical acclaim and this year sees the release of his sophomore album Kinesis.

In a career spanning more than 30 years, Danny has toured extensively with some of the world’s most respected artists, but is equally at home in the studio as he is on stage. He has appeared on countless recordings and film soundtracks, also working closely alongside artists and composers as producer, arranger and orchestrator.

Now, since taking up pen and ink himself, Danny’s music has been gaining widespread popularity from the most curious of listeners. His genre-defying music moves effortlessly between hypnotic rhythms, intricate metres and deeply emotive compositions, all drawing from a rich and varied musical life.

For this album launch show, Danny will be joined by some of his closest friends and inspirations, including James Arben on sax, Byron Wallen on trumpet, Jon Scott on drums, Liran Donin on bass, and tabla groove-smith Aref Durvesh.
