BRITTANY ANJOU plays classics from THE SHAGGS
About the Event
Brittany Anjou plays classics from the Shaggs
Pianist Brittany Anjou, reunion tour accompanist for 1960s cult-classic band The Shaggs, sings and plays a full solo set of classics from Dot, Betty, and Helen Wiggin’s songbook, including “It’s Halloween” and “My Pal Foot Foot.” She scored the upcoming documentary We Are The Shaggs, directed by Ken Kwapis, blending Erik Satie with outsider-music aesthetics. For this set, Anjou attempts to perform the music as the original recordings portray it - a nearly impossible task!
