About the Event
An intimate, exploratory live set blending improvised sound-making with curated compositions. Expect tactile acoustic textures, electronic processing and unique, site-specific sound.
'Djrum: Improvised Live', (developed at Waking Life, Berlin Atonal) is a performance rooted in experimentation: a practice of arriving at a venue with tools and components, then foraging local materials and building bespoke instruments on site.
From crafting stringed instruments, gong trees, and percussive sculptures from quartz, cork bark and forest finds; or assembling post-industrial sound objects from metal stair sections, concrete blocks and timber, the result is a hybrid sound world where electronic textures and acoustic resonance meet in unpredictable, tactile ways.
Experience highlights from recent improvised live sets, new compositions and fresh improvisations, plus reworked renditions of familiar catalogue pieces.
This performance may contain haze and strobe. Stage times will be added closer to the event date.
