Forget the traditional programme; this afternoon, the Nymphéas Trombone Quartet is serving up a menu instead. What would you like? Nymphéas decides on the spot what to play – in consultation with the audience. The menu offers a bit of everything: from Indian and Georgian music to pop and jazz, and from Renaissance masterpieces to brand-new compositions. With their passionate presentation, Nymphéas ensures a unique experience for both seasoned connoisseurs and adventurous newcomers alike.

The four trombonists of Nymphèas met while studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. They drew inspiration for their quartet’s name from the water lilies of French Impressionist Claude Monet. With their programme À la carte, they showcase their free spirit and love for all eras of music. Take a look at the menu. It even has handy icons: a little chili pepper indicates ‘spicy’ repertoire, a teardrop denotes ‘melancholy’, and a green leaf signifies a piece specially composed for the unique line-up of a trombone quartet. 

Outdoor concert
This Terrace Concert is an outdoor event. The sun can be intense and the wind can be quite strong near the water, so come prepared. In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the performance will be held indoors in the Entrance Hall, which overlooks the river IJ.
