Having played with legendary Brazillian composer & multi-instrumentalist Hermeto Pascoal for decades since he was a teenager, André Marques is no stranger to incorporating the rhythm and soul of his home country into his expert piano playing with ease.

Much of the repertoire of this trio performance incorporates music from Marques' 2014 trio album Viva Hermeto, a 13-track project that explores the sonic influences and lasting legacy of the aforementioned Pascoal - a titanic figure who clearly looms large in Marques' musical journey.

Expect myriad opportunities for diverse improvisation and creative musical dialogue between the trio, as they traverse their own discographies past, present and future, with the promise of showcasing some of their upcoming, as-yet-unreleased music, all consistently peppered with inspired moments of the band interacting and improvising organically in a way only the most experienced of trios can.

“I consider André Marques a genius. The work he is developing is one of the most beautiful things that have been created from my work. It was one of the greatest gifts I have received in my life.”
— Milton Nascimento

“Tumbling, chord-hammering piano solos from the exciting Andre Marques.”
— The Guardian
