About:

Originally from Leeds but now based in Berlin, singer and saxophonist Emma Coates weaves jazz and folk songwriting to create her unique, intimate sound, taking inspiration from the likes of Snowpoet, This Is The Kit and Joni Mitchell. She creates deeply personal storytelling, exploring feminine identity and growth, complimented by the delicate and airy tones of her voice and band.

Emma released her debut EP ‘Borrower’ in October 2025 with acclaim from BBC Radio 3 and BBC Introducing, and has played all around the north of England, including at Manchester and Leeds Jazz Festivals.
