About the Event
Enji (Enkhjargal Erkhembayar) sings across languages and cultures—in Mongolian, English, and German. She grew up in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. She now lives in Germany, where she blends the Mongolian singing tradition with the freedom and spontaneity of jazz. Tonight she will perform, among other things, songs from her most recent album Sonor, which, like its predecessors Ursgal and Ulaan, moves between jazz and folk without limiting itself to a single genre. Sonor is her most personal album to date and has received rave reviews. Tonight, you can hear it in the intimate setting of the Basement Sessions in our Koorzaal.
