Guildhall Symphony Orchestra & Chorus spectacularly opens the season with Gustav Mahler's radiant Symphony No 4 and Aaron Copland's iconic Fanfare for the Common Man, conducted by Eivind Aadland.

One of Norway’s most respected conductors, Eivind Aadland, makes his debut with the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra & Chorus in a vibrant new programme.

The concert opens with a new fanfare by Diego Jimenez, followed by Aaron Copland's iconic Fanfare for the Common Man and one of the 20th century’s most uplifting and beloved choral works, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms. The evening will finish with Gustav Mahler's radiant Symphony No 4, culminating in a luminous choral vision of heaven sung by a soprano soloist.

Eivind Aadland was Chief Conductor and Artistic Leader of the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra for 7 seasons from 2004, during which time he conducted the complete Beethoven and Mahler symphony cycles. In 2020, he became the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
