A Scottish jazz musician based in London, Kitty blends Jazz and Scottish Folk with her band, bringing a swingin’ twist to classics Scotland the Brave, Loch Lomond, Skye Boat Song, Wild Mountain Thyme and more.
Expect a joyful night of Scottish music and Jazz, for Scots and non-Scots alike!
Kitty Whitelaw is a Scottish Jazz Vocalist now based in London who has performed all over the world in theatre and live music. She was the Jazz Vocalist for the BAFTA nominated game Genesis Noir, and has had her music played on BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 3, NTS, Resonance FM.
Kitty’s recent original musical endeavours have become more influenced by folk music, so this inspired her to create “Riffin The Scotch” (named after the 1933 Billie Holiday and Benny Goodman tune). A project that brings together her love for Jazz and folk music, with Maxine Sullivan’s 1937 recording of “Loch Lomond” as one of the main sources of inspiration.
