About the Event
At the start of their OSMOSIS tour, Brothers Zohar and Adam Cabo are emerging as one of the most exciting new acts in contemporary jazz. With Zohar on keyboards and Adam on drums, the duo brings a lifetime of shared musical experiences and influences to their eclectic, genre-crossing performances. Drawing on jazz, Latin rhythms, hip hop and global music, their music combines adventurous improvisation with a remarkable musical connection forged through years of playing together.
Born to musician parents Richard Cabo, a former Latin big band leader, and Dassi Rosenkrantz, bassist, producer and educator, the brothers were seasoned performers before reaching their teens. Alongside their sister Noga, they recorded an album as a family band at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis. Those early experiences helped shape the broad musical outlook that defines their work today.
On their debut album, Osmosis, Zohar and Adam weave together the diverse strands of their musical upbringing into a distinctive sound that recalls the spirit of artists such as Chick Corea and Weather Report. The album's blend of progressive jazz, Latin influences and contemporary grooves is brought to life through the intuitive interplay and near-telepathic communication that only siblings can achieve.
Among the first to recognise their talent was bass legend Christian McBride, whose mentorship through Jazz House Kids has played an important role in their development and who also appears on Osmosis.
“Improvisation and free-form exploration fuel their genre-busting, unbound sound, which is rooted in jazz but meanders.”
