About the Event

Max Beesley has long juggled a twin career as a highly respected actor and musician. In the latter he is without doubt one of Britain’s most talented musicians and multi-instrumentalists. Known for his versatility, Max has made significant contributions to music and his impressive credentials speak for themselves.

Max Beesley returns for the worldwide launch of his new album "Groove Spectrum" - an exhilarating collision of jazz, soul and funk featuring an extraordinary line-up of British and American artists.

Drawing inspiration from the great orchestrated soul and jazz records of Quincy Jones, Groove Spectrum combines lush strings and brass with deep funk grooves, sophisticated arrangements and world-class musicianship.

For these exclusive shows legendary British Soul artist Omar takes centre stage on vocals, performing songs from the new album including the first single "Welcome to LA", on which he is the featured artist, alongside internationally acclaimed pianist and keyboard player Christian Sands and a blistering world-class band.

The night will also feature music from Beesley's acclaimed High Vibes - ZEUS album, bringing together hard-hitting horns, Rhodes, vibraphone and a powerhouse rhythm section.

Expect serious musicianship, spontaneous improvisation, and infectious, danceable grooves - this is jazz-funk designed to get you out of your seat.

Beesley has worked with an array of artists as a musician, composer, arranger, and producer, including Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Maceo Parker, Earth Wind & Fire, Red Rodney, George Benson, Bobby Shew, James Brown, Incognito, The Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai and many more as a drummer, percussionist keyboard player, or on his main instrument, the vibraphone.

“Even though we’ve had to wait three decades for a full-length release to come to fruition, Max Beesley and an impressive cast of musicians have definitely delivered one of the standout recordings of the year.”
