About the Event

An exceptional evening of chamber music from the Yehudi Menuhin School’s graduating students. Following in the footsteps of distinguished alumni including Tasmin Little and Nicola Benedetti, these remarkable young musicians represent the next generation of classical talent.

Rising Stars presents the Yehudi Menuhin School’s graduating students in their final performance before progressing to the world’s leading conservatoires.

Demonstrating the musical depth and maturity for which the School is renowned, this carefully curated programme brings together chamber works by Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn with music by Stephen Dodgson and Sally Beamish, offering an evening of richness, contrast and virtuosity.

More than a concert, Rising Stars offers a rare opportunity to witness the next generation of classical musicians on the threshold of their professional careers – celebrating not only extraordinary talent and dedication, but the enduring legacy of Yehudi Menuhin.

This event will last for approximately 120 minutes, with an interval.

About the Yehudi Menuhin School

Founded in 1963 by the celebrated violinist Yehudi Menuhin, the Yehudi Menuhin School is one of the world’s leading specialist music schools, dedicated to the education of exceptionally talented young musicians from around the globe.

Admission is determined solely by musical potential and passion, with a needs-blind admissions process ensuring that financial circumstances are never a barrier to entry. Today, nine in ten pupils receive financial assistance to attend.

Set just outside Cobham in Surrey, the School provides a holistic education for up to 100 exceptional pupils aged from 9 to 19, with specialist tuition on stringed instruments, piano, classical guitar, harp and composition. Performance remains central to school life, with pupils appearing regularly both in the School’s own concert venue, the Menuhin Hall, and in the wider community, continuing Yehudi Menuhin’s belief in the transformative power of music and the importance of sharing it widely.
