Bassist Dan Finn was born and raised in Westchester, New York. He spent his early years

performing in local orchestras and big bands, studying with Harvie S before accepting an offer to

attend the Oberlin Conservatory. While at Oberlin, he had the pleasure of studying with Billy

Hart, Gary Bartz, Peter Dominguez, Jamey Haddad and Jay Ashby. Throughout his time at

Oberlin, he had the opportunity to perform with icons such as Jamey Haddad, Jay Ashby,

Rogerio Souza, Roni Ben-Hur, Zach Brock, Tamir Hendelman, Alain Mallet, Magda Giannikou

and more. He was awarded bachelor degrees in both History and Jazz Bass from Oberlin

College and Conservatory followed by graduate studies at the Manhattan School

of Music where he studied in the studios of Ron Carter and Buster Williams. Since moving to New York in 2020, he has had the opportunity to play with Jazz greats such as Ingrid Jensen, Winard Harper, and Anthony Wonse as well as many of the leading voices of his generation such as Tyreek McDole, Emmanuel Michael, Birsa Chatterjee and more. He regularly performs at Smalls, Mezzrow, Ornithology, Close Up, Dizzy’s Club. Dan has performed at Newport Jazz Festival, Marciac Jazz Festival, Nice Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival and more.
