About the Event

The Kings Place Young Artist Platform is an exciting initiative supporting early-career musicians at the start of their professional journeys. Kyle Nash-Baker & Raymond Wui Man Yiu will perform in the Music Foyer, ahead of the Mozart Piano Gala in Hall One.

Kyle Nash-Baker is a pianist and composer based in London. Self-taught from the age of 12 until 19, he began composing in response to the colours he experiences through synaesthesia. At 15, his composition Red reached No. 1 in the classical iTunes download chart for over three weeks, leading to a commission from Vivienne Westwood for Paris Fashion Week. He holds a Master’s from the Guildhall School and an Artist Diploma from Trinity Laban. In 2022, he won Trinity Laban’s Soloist Competition, performing Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto at Cadogan Hall with Gerry Cornelius.

Hong Kong-born pianist Raymond Wui Man Yiu is a London-based soloist and chamber musician. He has appeared as concerto soloist in repertoire including Mozart, Schumann, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Grieg and Beethoven, with recent highlights including Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with the London Gay Symphony Orchestra. Chamber music is central to his work, including a long-standing piano duo with Kyle Nash-Baker and current collaborations with violist Varinia Oyola-Rebaza and the Fira Ensemble. He is also a member of the faculty at PIANO WEEK.

This is a free event taking place in the Music Foyer. No booking required.

The performance will last approximately 30 minutes, with no interval.
