Bedouine

About the Event

Luminous 60s folk-pop meets 70s country-funk, as Bedouine (Azniv Korkejian) performs from her new album Neon Summer Skin – a record rich with nostalgia, family, and the search for home. Delicately fingerpicked guitar and soft-focus vocals fold into a rich, enveloping sound, where piano ballads, glowing brass and airy rhythms gather. At times feeling grand and orchestral, threaded with bossa nova ease, gentle psychedelia and jazz inflections – all while drifting through gentle, lilting pop melodies akin to Karen Carpenter or Carole King. Vivid imagery flickers through the songs, from sunlit water to ceremonial rituals, with a lyricism that carries both tenderness and quiet resolve. Born in Aleppo to Armenian parents and raised in Saudi Arabia and the United States, these songs were written by Bedouine (Azniv Korkejian) after a final visit to see family overseas. A reflection on memory, displacement and the fragile safety of childhood. This performance may contain haze and strobe
