About the Event
Best known as the founder of Jerusalem In My Heart and co-founder of Hotel2Tango, Moumneh has spent more than two decades developing a practice that connects Arabic musical traditions with experimental sound. Alongside his own work, he has produced and engineered recordings by artists from across the international experimental music community. On A Faithful Daughter, he performs on modular synthesizer and buzuk while also recording and mixing the sessions.
Since forming in 2008, BNNT (Konrad Smoleński and Daniel Szwed) has worked across music and contemporary art. Their projects have taken the form of records, installations, films and
collaborative performances, often questioning conventional ideas of authorship and the role of the band itself. Albums such as Multiverse and Middle West embraced collaboration not simply as a way of making music, but as the central idea behind the work.
This performance is co-presented by MUTEK, with the financial support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
Fera is the latest album from Egyptian composer and multi instrumentalist Maurice Louca, released on Simsara Records in May 2025.
The nine track record centers on polyrhythmic grooves and vibrant acoustic textures; violin, synthesizers , custom-built microtonal guitars, and percussion.
With Fera, Louca deepens his genre-defying trajectory; blending psychedelic Egyptian shaabi, cosmic jazz, and experimental sound, while crafting compositions that blur the line between
structure and improvisation.
