Poppy Baker is one of the UK’s most exciting young jazz singer-songwriters and composers. Her captivating compositions straddle the jazz, soul and indie genres – with melodies that tug at the heartstrings. And Poppy’s sensitive and soulful vocals reveal an emotional intelligence beyond her years. Insightful lyrics demonstrate her innate ability to address any topic with sensitivity, whilst Poppy’s profound affection for ballads enriches her contemporary musical creations.
Singer, pianist and cellist Poppy Baker performed alongside progressive rock legend Rick Wakeman, Black Sabbath’s Adam Wakeman and the late great Bernie Marsden from Whitesnake, before deciding to study jazz vocals at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She has since performed across the UK - including at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, PizzaExpress Live, the Upton Blues Festival and the Eastside Jazz Festival – where she performed as a soloist with the BBC Big Band. Poppy’s recent single London was chosen as Track of the Week by Jazz FM’s Yolanda Brown, in March 2026.
