Grammy Award winning pianist and composer Kevin Hays presents four intimate duo performances over 2 nights, celebrating the release of his new album ‘Kevin Hays Live at The Stone’ (AHT RECORDS NYC), featuring saxophonist Ben Wendel and drummer Kenny Wollesen (9/11) and multi-keyboardist Craig Taborn with guitarist Gilad Hekselman (9/12)
With a prolific career spanning 40 years, celebrated pianist, composer, singer/songwriter Kevin Hays has often defied labels. His immediately recognizable sound alongside a deeply expressive, melodic sensibility and keen rhythmic sense, continues to delight audiences worldwide.
From his first recordings on Blue Note Records it was clear to listeners, elder musicians, and critics alike that a musician had arrived on the scene who was - as guitarist John Scofield put it - “…all encompassing, and phenomenally so!”
