Born out of Chiminyo's innovative NRG event/album series, NRG Trio takes the concept into unchartered territory, combining his custom-built drum-triggered electronics with the synth wizardry of Dave Koor and trumpet/electronics of Laurences Wilkins in a unpredictable, high-energy live performance.Born out of Chiminyo's genre-bending event/album series NRG, NRG Trio takes the concept into uncharted territory. For this rendition he's joined by synth player Dave Koor and trumpeter/electronic musician, Laurence Wilkins — for an exhilarating plunge into improvised electronic jazz. At the heart of it all is Chiminyo's custom-built software, which turns his live drum kit into a springboard for triggering and warping electronic textures in real time — with his drums doubling as controller, synthesiser, sampler and instrument all at once. The result is a set that crackles with unpredictability: drums, synths, trumpet and electronics locked in a restless, high-voltage conversation.
