Richard Spaven Quartet (Members Pre-Sale)

Richard Spaven's ability to find the intersection between hip hop, electronic and jazz where so much of the most renowned contemporary UK jazz sits has allowed him to collaborate with some of the modern genre's top names, such as Loyle Carner, Jordan Rakei, Petter Eldh and Alfa Mist. Throughout those collaborations, he brings a free-flowing joy to his music, and as such has had an undeniable impact on modern drumming across musical disciplines.

He comes to Ronnie's fresh off the back of his latest album Light Of Day, in which Spaven steps into the spotlight as a composer and bandleader across a tapestry of finely-tuned, incredibly well executed contemporary jazz music, wearing his influences on his sleeve and working in complete tandem with his band.

The energy from Light Of Day spills out into his quartet, with both guitarist Stuart McCallum and bassist Yves Fernandez appearing as part of both projects. This in turn creates a musical synnergy that shines through in their performances - showcasing a group who are all very comfortable on stage together.

“The king of broken-beat breaks, Richard Spaven has been a prolific presence across the last 20 years of UK crossover jazz, soul and electronica.”
