Jazzanova

A record that changed the possibilities of jazz after dark.

Berlin collective Jazzanova emerged from 90s club culture, turning deep record collections and restless experimentation into a sound that moved freely through jazz, soul, broken beat and electronica.

Their landmark 2002 debut In Between pushed that philosophy furthest, splicing intricate sampling with live instrumentation to help shape the sound of nu jazz for a generation. More than two decades later, its fingerprints are still everywhere.

Now, Jazzanova (Live) brings that music back into the room, rebuilding In Between through live drums, bass, keys, horns and vocals.

Music born from the sampler, returned to the hands of musicians: rich, rhythmic and built to move.

Future soul with Lagos roots and Berlin instincts.

Nigerian-born, Berlin-based Wayne Snow moves between soul, jazz, Afrobeat and electronics, pairing a light, expressive vocal with production built as much for the dancefloor as the headphones.

A natural fit within Jazzanova’s world, Snow brings the human edge to their sample-rich sound.
