Three pioneering mavericks

The idea that music should be comforting, beautiful and make people feel good hasn’t always been the standard. Take the 1970s, for instance. Whether it was contemporary music, pop or jazz, musicians and composers pushed the boundaries and deviated from the beaten track. Musical styles and mindsets began to bleed into one another, and no one was afraid to take a risk.  
 
One of those pioneers was Willem Breuker. His unprecedented virtuosity, audacity and vitality became a source of inspiration for others. Saxophonists such as Paul Termos and Peter van Bergen soon joined the fray. Unpolished III dives into the work of these three maverick musicians, reviving that raw, old-school excitement.
