About the Event
Platform 4 continues to highlight some of the most promising up and coming vocalists. A decade after it was first introduced Platform 4 returns with 3 more wonderful singers each with their own beautiful renditions of some of the best musical compositions. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see 3 highly talented artists hosted by our regular host Linley Weir and her talented musicians.
Jack Murray
Jack’s musical journey began in Ireland, singing Irish folk tunes at community cultural festivals and classical pieces in choir. When he moved to England, life took him in other directions and his singing paused — until 2018, when he rediscovered the joy of performing with Vocality, a group of acappella choirs in South West London, even recording a CD with them the following year.
In 2024, Jack stepped into the world of jazz and never looked back. Today he sings everything from the Great American Songbook to Latin rhythms and French jazz favourites.
Amelie Jones
Amelie Jones is a 17-year-old vocalist whose musical journey began in childhood through musical theatre, where she first discovered her love of performing. She began singing lessons at the age of twelve and has continued to develop a versatile style shaped by a wide range of musical influences.
While particularly drawn to the expressive storytelling of soul and contemporary pop, Amelie also performs as the lead singer of a rock band, regularly playing open mic nights and exploring alternative rock alongside her solo repertoire. She enjoys the challenge of performing across different genres, believing each offers its own unique way of connecting with an audience.
Bec Fry
Brought up in Wales (where music apparently gets absorbed by osmosis),Bec Fry began singing in school and later, college choirs. Taking up classical singing lessons in her formative years, as well as stumbling through piano lessons, helped build foundations. At that time, parental & wider family influence nurtured her love of Big Band & Swing jazz - specifically old school Thirties & Forties tunes.
South-West London afforded the opportunities of brilliant vocal workshops plus open-mic nights and eventually local gigs.
