Australian singer, songwriter and pianist Frances Madden combines her jazz roots with contemporary songwriting, beautiful melodies and engaging harmonies. Her previous Ronnie Scott’s shows sold out months in advance, and she returns following a two-month writing residency in Nashville.
Frances’ musical identity was shaped by her time in the Australian jazz scene, where she regularly headlined clubs and festivals and supported artists including Dionne Warwick and Gregory Porter. Her crossover album Beautiful World received five nominations at the Australian Songwriting Awards, while her women’s anthem She Will Rise was performed to a global TV audience as the featured entertainment for the Australian Open tennis final.
Now based in London, Frances’ latest EP Next Flight Home was recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer Cameron Craig, known for his work with Adele. Her songs are built around strong melodies, sophisticated harmonies and lyrics that connect with her audience, with each one brought to life by a captivating live performer.
