About the Event

Emma Rawicz’s Cloudwalker delivers fearless, spontaneous improvisation with a bold, international quartet. A unique blend of Nordic jazz, classical harmony, rock, and Brazilian grooves, it promises thrilling, uncharted soundscapes and a stellar sense of play.

Emma Rawicz has established herself as a fearless improviser, always ready to explore new musical territory. Cloudwalker builds on this spirit, placing spontaneous creation and bold artistic curiosity at the centre of the music.

Her acoustic tenor saxophone band draws on a classic jazz formation while pushing it into a fresh and distinctive sound world. For this project, Emma has assembled a powerful international group that engages with the format’s possibilities in a vibrant and imaginative way. Their interaction generates a special chemistry—full of unexpected turns, sonic richness, and emotional breadth.

Emma is already celebrated for a sound and musical maturity far beyond her years. Cloudwalker allows these qualities to shine, offering a glimpse into her continued artistic evolution. Influences from Nordic jazz, contemporary classical harmony, rock, and Brazilian grooves blend into music that is both unique and deeply nuanced.

As its name suggests, Cloudwalker embraces a sky-bound musical vision, with the band reaching upward toward an expansive and unbounded creative landscape.

The performance will be recorded for future broadcast on BBCRadio 3.

This event will last approximately 1 hour 50 minutes, including an interval.
