Mitch & Mitch started out playing country & eastern but soon expanded their vocabulary to Italian pop songs, Japanese noise ballads, 70’s porn film soundtracks, samba, mambo, retro-electronica, and whatever. Besides their own “original material” records, they collaborated with the likes of Kassin and Felix Kubin. During the pandemic, they were asked to record their favorite Morricone tracks, which, of course, they did. They focused on the repertoire consisting exclusively of the Maestro’s easy listening/bossa nova period (1969-1971). No actual hits. The album, titled Amore Assoluto per Ennio (Absolute Love for Ennio), was released shortly after and even won some awards (actually – one). Live performances of that material materialize in the form of a septet and specially designed video projection.
