About the Event
The Ronnie Scott's All Stars return with If These Walls Could Talk, a new show celebrating the artists, music and stories that have shaped Ronnie Scott's over more than six decades. Inspired by their latest album, the programme brings the club's musical history to life through new arrangements, original compositions and personal tributes to some of the great musicians who have appeared on its stage.
Highlights include A Nod to Sassy, celebrating Ronnie Scott's favourite vocalist, Sarah Vaughan, alongside music associated with Chet Baker, Mark Murphy, James Moody, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone. The evening also features a Buddy Rich showcase from drummer Chris Higginbottom, while saxophonist Alex Garnett performs one of Ronnie Scott's own compositions on Ronnie's original saxophone.
Performed by the club's acclaimed house band, If These Walls Could Talk is a journey through the music and memories of Ronnie Scott's, celebrating the artists who have helped make the club what it is today.
“One thing can always be relied on – the house trio led by pianist James Pearson. How they sustain such full-on brilliance night after night is a mystery… as real as it gets.”
— The Guardian
