Drawing on the principle of double exposure in analogue photography, Hanna Hartman and Sabine Ercklentz develop an electroacoustic composition in which different layers of sound overlap.
Using powerful electronic amplification, the two artists make faint sounds and sonic textures audible. Multiple microphones or pickups capture the same sound source from different perspectives, creating layers of sound that overlap, transform and influence one another—acoustic double exposures emerge.
