Self-taught composer Danny Elfman has written the music for almost all of Tim Burton’s films, from Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (1985) to Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024). The director and composer are clearly kindred spirits: their work is dark and strange, yet replete with fantasy and melancholy.
