Cello Yurt: the ideal decor for an intimate concert

A Biennale standard since 2022, the festival programme would be unimaginable without it: the Cello Yurt outside on the terrace of the Muziekgebouw. Various festival soloists present a solo programme around 45 minutes long. Visitors buy a ticket in advance for one of the concerts, but without knowing who or what they are going to hear.

A fully contemporary programme or only early music? Jazz and pop or Britten and Kodály? A winner of the National Cello Competition or a world-famous cellist from the other side of the world? Anything is possible – except Bach’s Cello Suites, because those are reserved exclusively for Bach & Breakfast.
