About the Event

New York’s Angie Pastor makes her London debut, bringing a style of jazz rooted in storytelling, passion, and vulnerability. She pours her heart into the Great American Songbook while also writing and performing original songs in the jazz tradition. Inspired by artists such as Nat King Cole, Blossom Dearie, and Peggy Lee, Angie balances heartfelt emotion with moments of humor and playfulness on stage.

Deeply in love with this powerful genre, she strives to preserve the resilient, joyful, and expressive spirit that defines jazz. Through both classic standards and original music, Angie invites audiences into an intimate and timeless musical experience.

Angie Pastor is a gifted artist whose music resonates deeply with listeners through its warmth, vulnerability, and expressive storytelling. As a singer-songwriter, jazz vocalist, and guitarist, Angie moves between two musical worlds: performing jazz standards and original compositions rooted in the jazz tradition, while also writing indie-folk songs accompanied by her delicate fingerpicking guitar style. Her intimate, lyrically narrative performances create a soundscape that is both tender and compelling.
Influenced by a rich tapestry of jazz and folk traditions, Angie’s musical palette was shaped by the timeless sounds of Norah Jones, Nat King Cole, Alison Krauss, Carole King, and other iconic artists. These musical pioneers instilled in her the passion and vulnerability that now define her own resonant performances.

Angie’s musical journey began at an early age, enriched by her studies in the vocal jazz program at CCNY and four formative years with the Jazz Power Initiative. There, she honed her craft under the guidance of renowned artists like Catherine Russell, Marion Cowings, and Cindy Hospedales, while also learning piano from Eli Yamin and dance from Shireen Dickson and Micky Davidson. Her college education further benefited from the mentorship of Nicole Zuraitis, Tom Dempsey, Amy London, and Suzanne Pittson, each contributing to her growth as an artist and individual.

Her performances have graced esteemed NYC venues such as Birdland, The Bitter End, Dizzy’s Club – Jazz at Lincoln Center, Room 623, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem, The DiMenna Center, The United Palace, and Virgin Hotels, among many others. Angie has also held notable residencies as a bandleader and jazz singer at various hotels and restaurants and has been a cherished Sofar Sounds artist for three years, delighting audiences in over 40 shows.

Angie’s original music has reached listeners around the world, with the entirety of her catalog recently surpassing one million streams. Her songs have been featured on Apple Music’s Singer’s Delight playlist as well as several Amazon Music playlists, including Bubbles and Blue Notes, continuing to expand the audience for her songwriting.
