Nigerian Art Music - Tradition and Legacy with Dr Oladele Ayorinde

The discussion will consider musical identity, the relationship between Nigerian and Western classical traditions, and the ways this rich heritage continues to evolve. With Babatunde Sosan, grandson of pioneering Nigerian composer and organist Thomas Ekundayo Phillips, the panel also offers a unique connection to the early foundations of Nigerian art music.

This event will take place in the David Wolf Kaye Room.
