The Pan-American Nutcracker Suite: Joe McCarthy's NY Afro Bop Alliance Big Band

Joe McCarthy's Latin Grammy® award-winning New York Afro Bop Alliance Big Band transforms Tchaikovsky's holiday classic into an electrifying fusion of global sound and spirit. Co-arranged by McCarthy and Vince Norman, this 18-piece ensemble weaves Afro-Cuban grooves, Brazilian samba, and rhythms from across the Americas and Asia into "The Nutcracker Suite" — turning the familiar into something bold, exhilarating, and entirely new. Praised as "an aural tour de force" and nominated for a 2023 Latin Grammy® for Best Arrangement, "The Pan American Nutcracker Suite" is a full-sensory celebration of cultural fusion, virtuosity, and shared joy. Gather your people and grab your tickets — this is a holiday tradition you don't want to miss.
