Oleg Shebeta-Dragan made a sensational career breakthrough as winner of the 2022 Carl Nielsen International Competition, where he also received the Special Prize of the Odense Symphony Orchestra and the Junior Jury Prize. The Ukrainian clarinettist, who joined the latest cohort of BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists in 2025, moves from works inspired by the great French tradition of clarinet playing to the wit and verve of Joseph Horovitz’s effervescent Sonatina, offered at the close of the composer’s centenary year.
