About the Event
Two-time Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist and composer Morgan Guerin makes his Ronnie Scott's debut as a bandleader with music spanning his catalogue alongside new, unreleased works.
Known for his work with artists including esperanza spalding, Terri Lyne Carrington and Terrace Martin, Guerin has established himself as one of the most exciting young voices in contemporary jazz. Described by The New York Times as a "wunderkind saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist", his music blends expansive fusion grooves, jazz improvisation, hip-hop, R&B and electronic textures.
His acclaimed 2024 album Tales of the Facade explores themes of identity and community through richly layered compositions that move effortlessly between styles while remaining rooted in improvisation.
Born into a musical family outside New Orleans, Guerin began on drums before taking up saxophone at six, later adding bass, keyboards, EWI and production to his musical arsenal. Since moving to New York, he has become a sought-after collaborator while building an acclaimed body of work under his own name.
Expect an evening of adventurous, contemporary jazz from one of the most inventive young musicians on today's scene.
